Latest Intel Arc GPU drivers boost DX9 gaming performance by up to 2.3 times, promises more improvements to come

Intel has released its latest drivers for Arc graphics cards that bring some huge improvements to GPU performance, especially in DX9 games.

Intel boosts Arc DX9 gaming performance by up to 2.3 times with the latest GPU drivers, more to come!

In its latest blog post, Intel showed us the performance comparison of the latest Arc driver suite (version 3959) and how it compares to the previous October driver suite (version 3490). I used Intel Arc A770, the flagship graphics card based on the Alchemist GPU architecture, for testing and the results are simply amazing.

Today’s driver release brings a new DX9 implementation to Intel Arc graphics products, including the A770, A750, A380, and our family of Arc motion graphics processors. We use a hybrid approach, i.e. a combination of API technologies, to take advantage of translation layers when a better experience can be provided using one of our more modern APIs.

These improvements will be transparently delivered to the end user through the normal driver distribution process. Details of this application may change over time as our DX9 driver evolves.
