6 Strict Rules Jennifer Lopez Makes Her Employees Follow That Prove She’s The Ultimate Diva
By all accounts, Jennifer Lopez lives a charmed life.
J. Lo has a net worth of $400 million, a fairytale marriage to Ben Affleck, and two beautiful children, 14-year-old twins Emme Maribel and Maximilian David Muniz, whom she shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony.
We haven’t even talked about the hit songs and blockbuster movies she’s had.
However, even though the 53-year-old Lopez has a song called “I’m Real,” by all accounts he’s a nightmare to work with — and we’re not just talking about his usual A-list celebrity demands.
Here are 6 rules J.Lo has for its employees.
1. Jennifer Lopez forbids employees to talk to her or make eye contact.
If there was ever a rumor about Jennifer Lopez becoming infamous, this is it.
The rumors first came to a head in 2012 when Lopez was building a new luxury home in the Los Angeles suburb of San Fernando.
She has set clear boundaries for the people who work on the property, a source told The Daily Star, via The Huffington Post.
While toiling in her mansion, Lopez asserted, “if any of the contractors, drivers, or domestic helpers make eye contact or talk to her, she will not be affected”—despite the fact that they will be in the building for an entire year.
strict.
Speaking of talking to J.Lo…
2. Lopez will fire you if you ask for his autograph.
Lopez once played a struggling hotel maid who was swept off her feet by a world-famous millionaire in “Maid in Manhattan,” but if you thought it was a maid who made her sympathize with them, think again.
According to the German Newspaper, via Radar Online, when the hotel maid and J.
Dudaj was fired the next day after Lopez complained to management about the request.
3. López REFUSES TO WORK WITH THE VIRGIN.
Heather Morris got her big break on Ryan Murphy’s Fox series “Glee,” but before that, she was just a lowly dancer auditioning — and had a run-in with J. Lo.
In a podcast appearance in August, Morris recounted her experiences during a day of auditioning on one of Lopez’s tours as all Virgos were fired.
Morris claimed that after eight hours on the hoof for a spot on the tour, Lopez told all of the dancers to raise their hand if they were a Virgo, then sent them all home.
What does JLo have against Virgo?
Who knows, but there’s a Virgo that Lopez, Leo, definitely didn’t like — her ex-husband Marc Anthony, who was born on September 16th.
4. Jennifer Lopez makes crazy demands about being surrounded by white.
After Lopez’s various run-ins and hotel pickups went viral a few times — for all the wrong reasons, of course — revealing just how obsessed she is with white.
Leaked documents reveal that Lopez’s spaces should be painted all-white, with whites, linens, curtains, furniture, even candles—as long as they’re scented with grapefruit or Jo Malone’s lemon blossom.
The flowers you insist on must also be white—though they will allow “red trim” on certain types of roses.
How indulgent.
In case there was any confusion about how serious Lopez is about her white bases? She gave birth in a white fur coat, so don’t try it.
5. Lopez gets her personal assistants to talk to the waitstaff and flight attendants on her behalf.
It’s not just that Lopez won’t let the construction crews talk to her.
Lopez went viral years ago for refusing to speak to a United Airlines flight attendant who asked her to order a drink.
Instead, Lopez turned to her personal assistant and said, “Please tell him I’d like a Diet Coke and lime.”
Sounds like maybe “Jenny’s only from the block”, was a catchy bob hook and nothing more.
6. Lopez has a history of not paying her employees.
Lopez has been sued by a group of people who worked with and for her — including a female driver who claims she refused to pay the amount they agreed to.
They settled out of court.
But even her high-profile agents and managers struggled to meet her exacting standards.
Lopez’s manager, Benny Medina, has always been one of the most powerful men in Hollywood and made her a household name in the ’90s and 2000s.
But when he accused her of not paying him properly, she immediately accused him of lying and misappropriating her money, dragging him to court and then expelling him.
The drama led to Lopez parting ways with her agent at Hollywood mega-agency William Morris Endeavor, too — though who fired who depends on what tip she’s asking for.
In Medina’s case, at least, Lopez has since made things right — he’s been her manager again since 2008 and is godfather to her children.
It seems all in one day for one of the biggest stars in the world.
