Just as you service your car to keep it running smoothly, an annual review of your iPhone can prevent a lot of problems in the long run. Phones accumulate a lot of digital stuff, and since a more well-organized device works better for longer, take the start of the new year as your chance to ditch it all. Your iPhone might feel brand new by the time you’re done.
Delete apps that you no longer use
We all download a bunch of apps that are almost never used. If you have a group, consider uninstalling it to save space and bandwidth. Unused apps can sometimes make your phone slow, and keep downloading updates automatically, which can affect your internet plan’s limited bandwidth.
You can go to Settings > General > iPhone Storage and choose Maybe next to Offload unused apps. This will save a lot of space. Then, you can scroll down the Storage settings page, swipe left on the apps you’re not using, and then make the selection delete to remove them.
Alternatively, you can go to your iPhone’s home screen, then tap and hold an empty part of the screen until the icons start to jiggle. Swipe left until you reach the App Library. You can now tap the “X” next to apps you don’t use to quickly delete them.
Change your wallpaper
When was the last time you changed your iPhone wallpaper? go to the Settings > Wallpaper To get you started — and if that wasn’t enough, try downloading an app like Dynamic Notch, which allows you to create minimalistic designs around your iPhone’s temperature. While you’re at it, get a custom lock screen, too.
Delete unwanted old photos and screenshots
Most people don’t bother deleting photos from their iPhone, but you probably don’t need to keep thousands of screenshots, memes, and other random images around. Go through your photo library and delete unwanted photos and videos.
Clear shared calendars, reminders, and notes
You may have created shared notes or added people to your calendar entries and reminders. After a point, you should remove them from the unused shared data to protect your privacy. go to the Settings > Privacy and Security > Security Checkup > Manage Sharing and Access. Follow the steps on the screen and you’re done.
Set screen time
If you want to pass less, go to Settings > Screen Time on your iPhone. handle See all activity To check the apps you used the most. Then you can click on each of them and set a daily usage limit. You can also select a file Stop Option to remind yourself to put the phone away after a certain time.
Free up your iMessage space
iCloud is amazing if you want to back up your phone, but backing up your messages is a double-edged sword: It backs up all kinds of junk and media files you’ll probably never need. Delete your unused subscriptions

Google Maps probably wouldn’t work well without location access, but TikTok probably doesn’t need location access at all.
