Heading into 2022, Margot Robbie’s star has already been on the rise with an ever-growing array of stellar performances in movies like I’m Tonya And the Once upon a time in hollywoodBeside that suicide squad movies and its Harley Quinn sequel wild birds (which she also produced). Plenty of actresses in this position might consider taking some well-earned time off to refresh and regroup, especially with Covid protocols taking into account the way movies are made now. Not Margot Robbie. She’s starred in back-to-back ambitious projects –Amsterdam And the Babylon—and still have time to make more shows and movies with her production company, LuckyChap Entertainment.

As a prolific actress and producer with a desire to nurture both emerging and established talent, Robbie’s success cannot be contained in a single year. Back in time

If you are confused by the similarities between the two Ruby projects this year –Amsterdam And the Babylon—released just a few months later, Maybe You’re Not Alone. While they are very different in tone (very, Extremely different) share some of the aesthetics of the Jazz Age. You may find some of the same words and phrases appearing in their reviews as well, such as “messy” and “starry.” And you’ll often see Ruby’s performance as the best part of both projects. She’s already earned a Golden Globe nomination for her work as aspiring star Nellie Laroy in it Babylonand she’s expected to get the nod come an Oscar nomination (it would be her third nomination) as well.

Ruby tends to be drawn to roles in time pieces, especially ones that allow her to disappear into a character from another time and place. Even when she plays Harley Quinn, she’s totally engrossed and it’s hard to see her as anything but that character. Her other notable appearance this year was yet another trip back in a way. She returned to her roots in a cameo in the final episode of the long-running Australian series Neighbourwhere she started playing Donna Freeman from 2008 until 2011.

In an industry that often strains relationships, forming such fruitful and ongoing creative partnerships is a good sign that you’re doing things right.
