The 95th Academy Awards shortlists announced in 10 categories | Framework
With one month left to reveal the nominations for the 95th Academy Awards, the Academy has announced shortlists in 10 categories: Feature Documentary, Documentary Short, International Feature Film, Makeup and Hairstyling, Music (Original Score), Music (Original Song) , Animated Short Film, Live Short Film, Sound, Visual Effects.
Each shortlist is decided by the members of that corresponding branch, with the exception of an international feature film. (Members from all affiliates are invited to participate in the preliminary round of voting and must meet minimum viewing requirements to be eligible to vote in this category.)
Nominations for the 95th Academy Awards will be announced on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, while the Academy Awards will take place on Sunday, March 12, 2023 at the Dolby® Theater in Ovation Hollywood and will be broadcast live on ABC and in more than 200 territories around the world.
Fifteen films will be submitted in the Documentary Feature category at the 95th Academy Awards. A total of 144 films have qualified in this category. Members of the Documentary Film Branch vote to determine the shortlist and nominees.

15 films will qualify for the next round of voting in the International Feature Film category at the 95th Academy Awards. Films from 92 countries and regions were eligible in this category. Academy members from all branches are invited to participate in the preliminary round of voting and must have met the minimum viewing requirements to be eligible to vote in this category.
In the nominations round, Academy members from all branches are invited to sign in and must watch all 15 shortlisted films to vote.

All members of the Academy’s Make-up Artists & Hairstylists Branch will be invited to screen excerpts and interviews with artists from each of the shortlisted films on Sunday, January 15, 2023. Chapter members will vote to nominate five films for Oscar® final consideration.
