Lenovo Confirms AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS And GeForce RTX 4050 For IdeaPad 5 Pro Series Laptop – VideoCardz.com

Now it’s official, the first laptops with AMD’s new Ryzen 7000HS and 7000U series have just been announced.

Lenovo is spilling the beans on the next-generation IdeaPad 5 series. Not only has the laptop manufacturer confirmed which AMD CPU variants will go into the new laptops, but the company has also confirmed its first GeForce RTX 40 Mobile GPU. One thing is clear, neither AMD nor NVIDIA will be happy with this leak.
Product specifications for the IdeaPad Pro 5 and Slim 5 series are confirmed by official data sheets, which are conveniently included in the official press release showcasing the products coming at CES 2023. Lenovo confirms up to seven different Ryzen 7000 CPUs:
- AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS
- AMD Ryzen 5 7640HS
- AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS
- AMD Ryzen 5 7535HS
- AMD Ryzen 7 7730U
- AMD Ryzen 5 7530U
- AMD Ryzen 3 7330U

It looks like two of them will feature Zen4 CPU architecture, while the rest will be based on Zen3. The HS series is expected to be 35W TDP by default, while the U series should be around 15W, which makes sense given that the latter packs into a much thinner chassis than the IdeaPad Slim 5.
Lenovo isn’t confirming the laptop’s CPU series specifications, but we do learn that the Pro system will be optionally equipped with a GeForce RTX 4050 GPU. There’s no mention of the graphics card’s configuration, not even the amount of memory, but it’s listed alongside the RTX 3050 at 6GB. Such a configuration for this Ampere GPU does not exist yet, but it was recently mentioned in a massive leak.

According to Lenovo, the IdeaPad Pro 5 14 and IdeaPad Pro 5 16 will be available starting May 2023 with prices starting at €1,099.
